Therefore, only bluesign®-certified materials are used in the production of the backpacks. This voluntary initiative ensures that all textiles and materials used are produced in a sustainable way. The bluesign® certification guarantees an environmentally friendly end product and confirms the use of materials sourced according to the highest ecological standards.
Since 2008, Haglöfs has been an active partner of this sustainability initiative and focuses on innovative, environmentally conscious solutions. In addition, products that meet the brand's high sustainability criteria receive the "Sustainable Choice" label. This provides you, as a customer, with the assurance that you are purchasing a product that has been produced in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner. Haglöfs also collaborates exclusively with tanneries that are members of the Leather Working Group (LWG). This collaboration ensures that the leather used comes from sustainable and ethically correct sources. Haglöfs, the Swedish brand for backpacks and outdoor equipment, has a long and successful history. The company was founded in 1914 by Wiktor Haglöf, a carpenter who dedicated himself to the production of backpacks. Growing up in Torsång, a small Swedish village, Haglöf was familiar with the harsh nature and the principles of sustainability from an early age. Using his craftsmanship, he created backpacks that could withstand the tough Swedish climate. Today, Haglöfs is one of the largest manufacturers of outdoor equipment in Scandinavia.
